Structure of a Christian Family
We find that most Christian families operate according to the systems of the world. The roles of the members of the family have shifted from that prescribed in the Scriptures. Consequently, there are square pegs in round holes! Instead of experiencing the joy in fulfilling GOD's purpose, the family members are stressed, and there is strife in Christian homes.
And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone;
I will make him a helper comparable to him."
Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field
and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam
to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called
each living creature, that was its name.
So Adam gave names to all cattle,
to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field.
But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept;
and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man
He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man."
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
And they were both naked,
the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Genesis 2:18-25
Genesis 2:18-25
Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one's youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
Psalm 127:1-5
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.
Many women are in secular careers and are kept busy in offices. Thus their homes and families are neglected. The husbands have wives who are not there to play the role of a wife. The children have mothers who are busy at work and have no time to spend with them. Most kids are put into childcare centres throughout the day. They grow up without receiving much love, guidance and security from their parents.
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.
When you eat the labor of your hands, You shall be happy,
and it shall be well with you.
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house,
Your children like olive plants All around your table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the Lord.
The Lord bless you out of Zion,
And may you see the good of Jerusalem All the days of your life.
Yes, may you see your children's children.
Peace be upon Israel!
Psalm 128:1-6
Psalm 128:1-6
Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.
he heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.
Proverbs 31:10-12
Strength and honor are her clothing;
Proverbs 31:10-12
Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.
She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
Proverbs 31:25-28
Proverbs 31:25-28
Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands,
that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word,
may be won by the conduct of their wives,
when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.
Do not let your adornment be merely outward--arranging the hair,
wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel--
rather let it be the hidden person of the heart,
with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is very precious in the sight of God.
For in this manner, in former times, the holy women
who trusted in God also adorned themselves,
being submissive to their own husbands,
as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are
if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding,
giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel,
and as being heirs together of the grace of life,
that your prayers may not be hindered. Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted,
be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling,
but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this,
that you may inherit a blessing.
1 Peter 3:1-9
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
"Honor your father and mother,"
which is the first commandment with promise:
"that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth."
And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath,
but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-4
Ephesians 6:1-4
if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife,
having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination.
For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed,
not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,
but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy,
self-controlled,
holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught,
that he may be able, by sound doctrine,
both to exhort and convict those who contradict.
Titus 1:6-9
Titus 1:6-9
The wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.
Proverbs 14:1
The home of a Christian should have an atmosphere of peace and joy as the members of the family love one another as our LORD JESUS Himself commanded. The LORD loves us selflessly. Such should be our love for others!
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
John 15:12
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another,

John 15:12
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another,
and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another;
even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom,
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:12-16
Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established;
Colossians 3:12-16
Rather than fancy wall hangings, let the word of GOD be portrayed on our walls. Let priority be placed on studying and obeying the word. Let there be personal and family prayer and let JESUS be made comfortable in our homes! Let us not displease Him in any way by anger and strife nor dishonour Him by living according to worldly standards and placing our trust in the systems of this world.
Let praises arise from our hearts and voices and the music systems in our homes!
Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established;
